Trust

An ancient legal concept that allows some or all property of a trust creator to be held in the name of the trustee on behalf of a beneficiary, which may include the trust creator.

Trust also refers to the trust agreement or legal documents govern the control, management, and distribution of property. The rights of the beneficiaries, and the rights, powers, and duties of the trustee, are set forth in the trust agreement.
