Execution

Signing legal documents, such as a power of attorney, a trust or a will as directed by law to make such documents effective. State law governs the execution of documents.

For example, executing a will usually requires at least two witnesses who are not beneficiaries under the will. For other documents, such as a power of attorney or a trust, a notary public must certify signatures.
